State Bank of India, India’s largest banking both in number of branches and customer’s has introduced Tab Banking.
Select Sales staff of SBI equipped with TAB’s on their physical verification visits of prospective customers will offer to complete the Account opening formalities onsite.
Through the Computer Tables basic formalities required for account opening like details of KYC and photographs of applicant will be electronically captured. These will be loaded on the CBS (Core Banking Solution) and the account number will be sent to the customer through SMS/e-mail.
This will provide convenience and time saving to the customer for opening accounts with SBI.
One of the key benefits to SBI is that through TABs’ effective tracking of sales staff will be possible. The conversion rates also can be effectively monitored.
Physical verification report of customers’ visits can be digitally stored, through GPRS based photos.
