Cheque Truncation System in India – Northern Grid

After the success of CTS-Western Grid and CTS-South-Eastern Grid, NPCI will roll-out the Northern Grid. New Delhi will be the CH Centre for India’s youngest CTS Grid.

The exact composition of CTS-Northern Grid will be known in the coming months. Initially, the plan was to have only 2 Pan-India CTS Grids with New Delhi being a stand-alone model. However, with the cheque volumes only going up, and complexities involved in running 2 Grids for the whole country, the CTS-Northern Grid was conceptualized.

NPCI by default was the chosen agency for implementation of CTS-Northern Grid.

Common Disaster Recovery (DR) site for CTS for all the 3 Grids will be in Hyderabad.
