Vasudev Adiga’s +1 motivational tool


No here +1 does not relate to Google Plus. If you are a Bangalorean, you must have visited one of Vasudev Adiga’s fast-food outlets and relished their hot piping food.

As a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiative, ‘Ottaagi’, was rolled out. Ottaagi, in Kannada, means ‘together’.  The management of Vasudev Adiga believe in walking beside – not ahead, not behind – so that they can support the underprivileged.

On an average, Vasudev Adiga’s outlets attract One Million footfalls. Through ‘Ottaagi’, Vasudev Adiga provides access to its customers. This access helps them create awareness about social causes; provide market access to products they manufacture.

The current Ottagi partners are: Association for the Physically Disabled, Diya Foundation, MYRADA

The present motivational tool in collaboration with its customers is the ONE MILLION MEALS through Akshaya Patra Foundation.

Akshaya Patra Foundation is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) which serves mid-day meals to government schoolchildren in India.

This campaign, titled +1, was launched on Children’s Day (November 14, 2013) and has since been rolled out across 20 of the chain’s outlets in Bengaluru and the rest of Karnataka.

The price of selected items on Vasudev Adiga’s menu would be increased by Re 1, and the proceeds would be donated to the Foundation.
