The 2013 FIDE World Chess Championship match will take place commence on November 9, 2013 in Chennai, India. It is a match for the highest crown in chess between the Defending Champion Viswanathan Anand (India) and the Challenger Magnus Carlsen (Norway)
The Chess World Championship 2013 is being held in the Ball Room of ‘The Hyatt Regency-Chennai’.
The players will be separated from the spectators by a laminated extra clear glass. The Glass wall is 11ft high, 36ft wide and 13.62mm thick.
Only 400 tickets are available and rest of the world has to see the matches via the digital medium, be it TV or internet.
The preferred mode of sale of tickets is online @ www.chennai2013.fide.com
Unfortunately, the payment option is limited to only Master and Visa Credit Cards. The Payment Gateway is Payuindia. As per the company’s website, there are multiple payment options. However, the Chess World Cup organizers have opted for limited options. A service fee of 2% is another irritating factor.
The tickets will be sold online till November 8,2013 and thereafter the remaining tickets will be put out for spot ticketing at the venue on the respective match days.
