The first step in the visual marketing of Kochadaiiyaan is the trailer release on 09/09/2013.
To build up the momentum for Kochadaiiyaan release in December 2013, directed by Rajnikant’s daughter Soundarya Ashwin, the marketing team has decided to flood the market with Kochadaiiyaan merchandise.
In 2012 itself, Karbonn Mobiles tied with up Kochadaiiyaan team, to release Kochadaiiyaan-Rajnikant special edition mobiles.
The special edition Karbonn Mobiles will have exclusive Kochadaiiyaan screen savers, images, trailers and signature tune. This mobile will be released during the audio launch of Kochadaiiyaan, which is planned in October/November 2013.
Apart from Tamil, the film will be dubbed in Telugu as “Vikrama Simha“. To attract a larger audience, the film will also be dubbed in other Indian languages viz., Hindi, Malayalam and foreign languages such as Japanese, Italian and Spanish.
The motion capture technology being used in the film shooting renders it easier to be dubbed in many languages.
At present, the merchandise planned are Online Games, Kochadaiiyaan comics, Kochadaiiyaan toys. The games and comics are planned post-release the movie. This is to ensure that the viewers identify with the Kochadaiiyaan character. However, other physical merchandise is expected to be released during the Audio launch.
The online games partner is Hungama Games. The comic partner is yet to be announced.
