SBI Capital Markets Ltd (The Advisor to the Government of India for setting up the Bank), has issued an Invite for ‘Request for Proposal’ for Selection of IT Vendor for implementing Core Banking Solution in the Bank based on the Application Service Provider (ASP) model.
As the Bank has to be up and be running by November 1, 2013, the interested parties have time to submit their applications on or before 6th August, 2013 by 1600 hrs IST.
While the government is yet to finalize the chairperson for the all-women bank, that Punjab National Bank executive director Usha Ananthasubramanian is the frontrunner for the job. If the appointment comes through, she will have a five-year run at the bank and will be able to implement the plan better than someone with a short tenure.
Ananthasubramanian is leading the core management team (comprising employees from various public-sector banks) set up to put in place by October 31 the systems and processes necessary to start the bank’s operations.
The government will formally announce the name of the CEO after the Reserve Bank of India has issued the licence
