The CTS (Cheque Truncation System) Grid in India is playing an important role in uniting the country. In the long run, NPCI envisages that all of India, will be connected to any one of 3 clearing Grid i.e West (Mumbai), South (Chennai), North (New Delhi) with the DR site being in Hyderabad.

Readers might be surprised to know that Punjab too will be connected to the Southern Grid and not to the Northern Grid.

The position of CTS migration at various locations under South CTS Grid is as under. As on date, 100% migration has been achieved only in Chennai, with Bangalore, Hyderabad and Coimbatore closely behind.
