Uploading of service area plans on district websites and monthly updating thereof.

Readers might remember that GOI-MOF-DFS  in June 2012, had advised the SLBC Convenors on the new format of the Service Area Plan and uploading the same on district(s) website.

GOI-MOF-DFS has since observed that the revised Service Area Plan has not been updated in many district(s) website.

Hence, vide Lr.No.F.No.11/4/2011-FI(C-48762) dt 11/09/2012, GOI-MOF-DFS has reminded SLBC convenors to expedite the process of updating the new Service Area Plan on the respective district website. The Lead Bank Scheme in the respective districts is driven by the Service Area Plan.  The success of the Government’s Financial Inclusion driven largely depends on the availability of the updated information amongst the stake holders.

Hence, the revised Service Area Plan format focuses on : –

01) Preparation of service area plan on the basis of Gram Panchayat with details about all financial inclusion villages identified under Swabhimaan Campaign

02)Additional details/ contact number of BCAs/ bank officials etc.

03)The Service Area Plan needs to be periodically updated to account for appointment of new BCAs, change of BCAs, change of identified Bank official for weekly visit etc.

04)The date of updation of Service Area Plan must be mentioned on the website.

Updation of the relevant information on the website, will reduce the TAT and also encourage prospective customers to move into the banking mainstream
