‘Entry of New Banks in the Private Sector‘
Reserve Bank of India, vide a press release dt.11/08/2010, placed on its website, a Discussion Paper on ‘Entry of New Banks in the Private Sector’.
Reserve Bank of India, has invited feedback, suggestions, and comments with respect to the same.
The last date for submission of the feedback/suggestions/comments is 30th September 2010.
On 20st August, 2010, RBI in continuation of the above subject has issued a Press Release, wherein it was clearly stated that RBI does not intend to hold discussions with Corporate Bodies or individuals.

However, all stakeholders, including Corporate Bodies and Individuals are free to offer their feedback/suggestions/comments, to RBI.
It is nice, that RBI has clarified that it does not intend to hold discussions with Corporate Bodies/Individuals right now, instead of at a later date.
This will avoid confusion at all levels, and also aid the individuals to represent their view-points through proper channel.
As the subject is vast, I would try to cover as much as possible in the coming days.
